Australian music for the Grand Final

Australia has musical talent coming out of its ears. It’s time to showcase that talent to the nation and the world during our AFL Grand Final.

The cream of Australian sporting and music talent together? You know it makes sense. All power to Meatloaf, Teddy, & Snoop, but we’ve got it covered.

Join our push to get the AFL to platform established and emerging Oz music talent, to turn the GF into a festival to celebrate the Australian game & Australian music.

More Oz music on our stages & speakers

In 2025, no Australian single produced that year made ARIA’s Top 100.

Fifty years ago Australian music was a mainstay on radio, top 40 lists, compilation albums, and our stages. Today, Australian music is being crowded out by American artists and barely breaking into the charts.

That’s not because we have no talent here. It’s because Australian bands find it hard to get discovered on platforms like Spotify, which controls 70% of the music streaming market and whose algorithms promote and reward American acts.

Outside of streaming, expensive international acts are eating up a large amount of young people’s entertainment budgets, leaving little behind for Australian bands and musicians.

We’d like our institutions and politicians to introduce reforms on streaming platforms to showcase more Australian music, minimum remuneration for Australian musos, Australian acts as supports for big internationals, and a levy on big international acts to support local venues in Australia. They’re doing it in Europe, let’s support our musicians.
